[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How did you sleep last night? The answer to that question could very well impact your day in many surprising ways. Studies indicate that the more rested a person is, the more likely they are to excel in their job, marriage, community, and WEIGHT LOSS. Statistics also show us that people who get 6-8 hours of sleep every night lose weight more easily and keep it off longer. Why is that? The following Four Factors play a major role.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomInDown”]Better sleep equals better decisions. When we are well rested, our brains are able to better process information, allowing for us to make healthier choices each time we pick up the fork, enter the drive-thru, or approach the vending machine![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomInDown”]Better sleep provides the energy we need for exercise. The more rested we are, the more likely we are to take that long walk after work, or better yet, hit the gym for 30+ minutes.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomInDown”]Better sleep reduces stress, and reduced stress equals reduced stress eating. Studies indicate that people consume an additional 500-800 calories merely in stress eating/snacking throughout the day; more than enough calories to halt a weight loss program for sure![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”zoomInDown”]Better sleep equals obedience to God. That’s right. Rest is REQUIRED for obedience. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:11, “Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” We are required to be diligent about resting. All too often, we simply allow our bodies to get run down to the point of not being able to go on. This is in direct contrast to what God’s Word says. We are to actively pursue and set aside time to rest. God rested on the seventh day on purpose. And we are to rest on purpose too. Be encouraged today, that a Sunday afternoon nap, going to bed 30 minutes earlier each night (without the TV) and taking that mid-afternoon power nap, are ways to strategically plan for success in weight loss. Restructure your week, so that rest becomes priority, and not something at the bottom of your To-Do list![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]All month long, we have been encouraging our E4M family to rest in the Lord to find success on their health, wellness, and weight loss journey.
