I’m Learning to Walk by Faith
The Bible says we are to “Walk by faith, and not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7. A task easier said than done, in life and weight loss. So often the scale (and life for that matter) do not seem to reflect all our hard work. The time we said no to fries, or went to bed with our tummy growling. “Why didn’t that show up when I weighed in that week?” The same can be true in life. We have prayed for years, so why is our loved one still addicted. Or we have budgeted, saved, skipped vacations, yet the debt still remains. Friend, be encouraged today, as I share with you what I have learned about implementing, really living out 2 Corinthians 5:7. You may be surprised to learn that you are farther along in your faith, and weight loss journey than you think.
- Have faith even when you don’t see results. Results will come friend. Sometimes it just takes a little time. But those who choose to never give up, always see results!
- Keep moving forward. Sometimes the path may seem too long, and the battle too hard to fight. In these moments, I encourage you; simply DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING. You are not required to have it all figured out. Just do the next thing that will get you closer to your goal.
- Keep speaking life into your situation. This is so important. Unfortunately, most of us are wired to think negatively. It takes effort to rewired our thoughts to become more positive. And in order to do this, we must speak life. Instead of allowing thoughts of “How will I ever do this?” Or, “I don’t think he’ll ever change.” We must begin to combat them with thoughts that promote life. “God, I can’t do this, and I can’t change him, but You can. Thank you for you supernatural power in this situation.”
- Know this above all else. You serve a mighty, merciful, God who loves you more than you can even comprehend, and absolutely wants what is best for you. He will see you through to success. All you need to do is to seek Him in everything.
There is a verse in Deuteronomy that so beautiful displays this very truth; “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him, IF you seek Him with all your heart, and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29
Be encouraged today, knowing that you too, can learn to walk by faith, and experience great success when you seek God with all that is in you.
