Equipping YOU for life-long health and wellness, and a closer walk with God! yourteam@equipped4more.com

I often find myself weary and worn down in the winter months.  Maybe it’s the cold weather, the lack of daylight, the increased demand for me to be in three places at one time, or the stretching of my wallet further than I can handle.  Whatever the case, I have determined in my heart that this year at Christmas I will find a way to move from weary to WARRIOR! If that sounds fabulous to you, read on sweet friend!  Let’s be warriors together!

I have been on a health and wellness journey long enough to know that my health matters if I am to find victory in stressful times.  Feeling run down, gluttonous, and shameful has no place in a warrior’s life. So below I share with you 4 Simple ways you can take charge of your body and thereby take charge of your battles! And Win!

  1. Get adequate rest-Science will surely back me up here.  Time and time again we find that adequate rest is vital for making healthy life decisions.  The less rested we are, the more likely we are to make poor eating choices, move our bodies less, and feel heightened stress.  Please pray about this one. Ask God to help you find ways to get no less than 6 hours of sleep each night, but preferably more like 7 or 8.
  2. Spend time in God’s Word-I just had this conversation with my kiddos the other evening.  The Bible truly is our training manual for coping, and finding success in life.  If you want to ace Algebra you will have to crack that book. If you want to ace life, you will have to open that Bible.  Make no mistake. There is a solution for every battle you face in God’s Word. But you’ll never know the answers, unless you read the Book.
  3. Plan-but be flexible-I have learned that the holidays are not necessarily the best time for me to plan super structured meals, detox days, and intense exercise plans.  I am a firm believer that knowledge is power, and simple journaling and water, are highly sufficient and practical tools in December.
  4. Remember, it’s a lifestyle NOT a DietI never change the fact that I’m on a health and wellness journey because of the season, just how I approach it!  When you truly embrace this one fact, moving toward health and wellness become part of who you are, and not a dreaded chore you have to complete.

Be blessed this holiday season, realizing that you are new creature in Christ, designed for amazing things.  And never forget that the God who created you wants you to know, that “He who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completions until the day of Christ Jesus.”
