Equipping YOU for life-long health and wellness, and a closer walk with God! yourteam@equipped4more.com

Well, one thing is for sure, November is a time for decision making.  The infamous Christmas shopping season is upon us, and the questions begin.  “What will I buy my parents, my kiddos, my boss?  How much should I spend?  Do we have enough to spend?  Who’s hosting Thanksgiving dinner? There’s so much to think about.

November is also the month that many people will make the final decision to either stick with their health and wellness plan or throw in the towel until the first of the year.  Whether or not you are actively losing weight or simply trying to fit into the same pants come January 1st, no one wants to be gluttonous during the holidays, spending Thanksgiving night feeling guilty and full of shame.  Be encouraged friend! There are ways to live healthy through the holidays, while still enjoying all the yummy flavors and savoring the goodness that Thanksgiving brings. Prayerfully consider implementing these 4 Thanksgiving Strategies for a holiday filled with pleasure, goodness, but most importantly GUILT FREE!

  1. Set guidelines, not strict limitations.

Thanksgiving is not the day to say no to everything, but no to the things you’re really not interested in.  Just because there is pumpkin pie on the table, doesn’t mean you have to eat it, especially if your take on pumpkin pie is that “it’s just ok.”  Save your calories for the foods/desserts you really want.

  2. Know what you’re up against.

If you have 3 places to be on Thanksgiving, it may not be in your best interest to eat a full meal at each place.  Maybe appetizers at the first, main meal at the second, and dessert at the third. You are still savoring what’s most important: time with friends and family!

  3. Plan and prepare

. “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”  Strong words, but so much truth here. A little planning can go a long way to ensuring you feel great at the end of the day.  One of the best forms of planning? Simply remembering that portion control never hurt anyone!

  4. Pray and Pray Now

.  Although prayer before the meal on Thanksgiving is tradition and important, if you are planning for success, it’s never too early to ask for God to begin to intervene, give you courage, motivation, and everything you need, to treat your body in a way that honors Him on Thanksgiving Day.

Remember, we all want to feel great at the end of the day.  Pray now that God will give you every opportunity to succeed, leaving no room for guilt or shame, just gratitude and love.

Here at E4M, we would love to pray for your continued success on your health and wellness journey, and walk alongside you to success.  Join our family of men and women who are losing weight for the last time, and growing closer to God.
