As always, Kellie’s humorous, and loving way of sharing her journey continues to offer us the hope and inspiration we need to “get back on track!”[/vc_cta][vc_column_text]My willpower was tested last weekend. I would like to tell you that I passed with flying colors, but that would be a lie. I regret to inform you that I flunked. I was faced with super tasty, high calorie food annnnddddd some of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. And I ate. Friday night. Then Saturday night. Did I enjoy it? Oh, you betcha. Do I regret it? Nope. Not one bit.
I’ve done so well since I joined the program and have been really disciplined about my eating. But, last weekend, I came face to face with some of my favorite foods – lemon cake, pasta salad and ham and cheese sliders. This food was prepared by godly women and let me tell you, they make heavenly food! So, I indulged a bit.
Normally, I would be so mad at myself, turn back to my old ways and say ‘Why bother? I can’t do this! You failed yet again.” BUT, this time, I didn’t! I accepted what I had done, made peace with it and decided that eating a few small pieces of cake or a yummy spoonful of pasta wasn’t the end of the world. It certainly didn’t mean that I was a failure! Can I tell you what a miracle this is?? God is changing my thinking and that is changing the course of my weight loss journey!
We have to learn to not let a poor eating day derail us or keep us from pushing ahead! We are going to have days like these. We might be in a situation where we don’t have much of a choice when it comes to what we can eat. Or we might come face to face with a favorite food and we make the choice to eat it.
The victory comes when we CHOOSE to get back on track and not beat ourselves up for it. It’s OK to eat a piece of cake. It’s OK to eat one of your favorite foods. We just can’t continue to choose those things on a daily basis.
If you have gotten off track or feel like you failed, shake yourself and say ‘Today is a new day. I am NOT a failure. I am a conqueror in Jesus!’ Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get moving!
XOXO Kellie
Momma said there’d be days like this….Momma said. <3
