Hey sweet friends! Kellie is back this week, and sharing the importance of community on a weight loss journey! Her success in truly inspiring countless others to join her on the last weight loss journey ever! Are you ready to be part of her “Girl Gang?“ Read on to see how she’s taking her gang seriously, and drawing from scripture to keep her going today and everyday!”
God brought this scripture to me earlier this week and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says ‘Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.’ Immediately, I thought of all of you, and E4M.
As we all know through experience, it’s HARD to discipline your flesh. It does not like the word ‘NO’ at all. As a matter of fact, I think the word ‘no’ is its favorite word. It likes the challenge. I can hear mine say ‘Oh yeah? Well, we will see about that,’ in an incredibly sarcastic and laughing tone. Dude, my flesh has a lot of attitude. A LOT.
Losing weight, controlling your eating and changing your habits when it comes to food seems to be extraordinarily difficult. I don’t think it’s possible to do it without support. I am the queen of ‘I can do it by myself’. This often poses a big challenge when it comes to my relationship with God because I try to take on things that I know deep down inside that I cannot possibly handle. However, that doesn’t stop me from trying and consequently failing every single time. This battle of the bulge is one that I know I cannot do alone. My experiences have taught me that and I’m finally listening this time. This is why I’m so incredibly thankful for E4M, Julie and each and every one of you.
I WILL be overpowered in this journey if I try to do it alone. When I added E4M, I got a girl gang that empowered me to believe, no, to KNOW that I can do this! Your recipe ideas, your shopping tips, your encouragement and those GIFS – those things keep me going. But, Ecclesiastes hit me right in the heart this week – when we, as a cord of two, come together with God as our focus, He makes us an unbreakable cord of three! In Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells His disciples that when two or three gather in His name, He will be in the midst of them. When God reminded me of the three-strand cord, this scripture in Matthew came flooding into my spirit! We are gathering in the name of Jesus for this journey and that makes us unbreakable.
This week, all I could think about was you and our E4M family. I wasn’t focused on the food or my weight (which is a miracle in itself). God wanted me to remember that I wasn’t doing this alone and that He gave me a mighty band of godly women to help me get through it. With Jesus at the center, we are guaranteed to be victorious!
Thanks for being one of the strands of three. I love you gals. I truly do. I’m thankful to be doing this with all of you!! I wanted you to know it.
XOXO Kellie
