[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If it’s not the ghosts and goblins that have you fearing for your life on Halloween, but the candy, have no fear, your E4M family is here!  We’ve got 4 Tricks to save you from the Halloween Treats. Follow along and you’ll be able to treat yourself to a smaller size in no time!

 

  1. If you must buy candy, plan ahead.  If you’re frugal like me, sales are important.  So, buying candy the day of or close to Halloween may not fit into your budget or schedule.  However, just because you buy ahead of time, doesn’t mean to must have access to the candy. Store it in the trunk of your hubby’s car, or in the basement, or up on a high shelf in your closet.  The old saying, “Out of sight, out of mind,” really works here!

 

  1. Portion out your own goody bag for trick or treat night.  This is a biggie for me.  If I am the one handing out the candy, it’s tough not to grab a piece here and there for myself.  But those calories can add up quickly. Plan your day accordingly, allow for some extra treat calories, and have your own little goodie bag handy, while your passing out treats to all those little goblins.

 

  1. Have healthy treats available too.  I love making our E4M Creamy Pumpkin Mousse to have as a sweet treat on Halloween night.  At only 65 calories per 1/2 cup, I can indulge a little and not feel like I’m missing out!

Creamy Pumpkin Mousse

Our creamy pumpkin mousse is the perfect topping for our many E4M muffin varieties, and delicious when served ala carte too!

Ingredients:

1 16 oz. solid-pack pumpkin

1 package instant sugar-free vanilla pudding (5.1 oz box)

¼ cup low calorie almond milk

1 tsp. Ground cinnamon

1 8oz. Container fat free frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions: In a medium bowl, combine pumpkin, pudding, milk and cinnamon with electric mixer until well blended.  Fold in whipped topping until thoroughly blended. Enjoy a generous 1 cup serving of this tasty treat for just 130 calories.  The perfect Mix-n-More Snack! (Mix-n-More is the E4M unique way of spreading out calories throughout the day without counting!)

 

  1. Pray about it.  Just like every other aspect of this journey, when we are faced with tempting times, our weapon of choice should always be prayer.  Begin praying now that God will allow you to get through Halloween and all the upcoming holidays successfully losing weight. Remember, He called you to this journey, and His plan does not include giving you a time-out over the holidays!  He simply wants you to rely on Him more!
